Tutorial

Step 1. Launch the Mac App Store.

Step 2. Search for the app or game which you want to share using the search bar on the top left hand corner.

Step 3. There are two ways you can go about this and both options are outlined below:

  • Right-click on the name of the app and then click on Copy Link.
  • Click on the name of the app to pull up more details, click on the Share icon on the top right hand corner, and then click on Copy Link.

Which route you end up taking is entirely up to you. Both of these methods do the exact same thing and you'll end up with a link for the app or game which will lead you straight to the Mac App Store once opened.

If you come across a Mac app using Safari, then sharing the link is way easier as you simply have to copy the URL from the address bar and share that instead.

Keep one thing in mind; the app or game you are sharing with someone won't show up if it's not available in their region.

Instead of just copying the link to the app or game, you also have the option to share the link directly with someone using Messages, AirDrop, Mail or just save it to Notes and Reminders. There are multiple things you can do and it's ideal to know about this if you are new to the Mac.

And that's how you share a link for an app or game with someone from the Mac App Store.
