Another Code Recollection

Another Code: Recollection is the new Switch remake of the Nintendo-published DS and Wii cult-classic story-driven adventure games Another Code: Two Memories (known as Trace Memory in North America) and Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories. Beyond the expected visual updates, Another Code: Recollection also completely remixes the games’ puzzles, meaning even those familiar with the originals will find themselves on new ground.

Note: While our Another Code: Recollection guides stay away from detailed plot points, they may still contain some SPOILERS. Proceed accordingly.

You’re almost to the end of the Another Code saga, but there’s one more puzzle in your way. Without giving too much away, at the end of Another Code: R you’ll come across the gravestone of a key character. There’s something hiding inside a secret compartment in this headstone, but how do you open it? The method is a bit tricky, but easy once you know how. Here’s how it’s done…

  • Step 1 – Interact with the gravestone, then the kaleidoscope sitting on it. The kaleidoscope is a bit of a misdirect – you’ll think you have to look through it to solve the puzzle, but you don’t. Instead, turn it on its side and interact with it. You can now rotate a series of tumblers on the side of the kaleidoscope.
  • Step 2 – Align the patterns on the side of the kaleidoscope correctly and they’ll combine to spell a word – LOVE.
  • Step 3 – Now, interact with the epitaph on the headstone. You can actually push the letters in. Find the letters in LOVE and push them. A compartment in the headstone will pop open.

And there you have it – the final puzzle in the Another Code: Collection completed! Sit back and enjoy the final revelations and the game’s ending!
