The new reboot of Alone in the Dark is here, but the game still has a lot of old-school survival horror flavor, which means a lot of puzzles, secrets, and other mysteries to unravel. But don’t worry, we here at Wccftech are here to guide you past the tricky bits.
Note: While this article doesn’t get too deeply into specific ending plot details, there are some unavoidable SPOILERS below.
In addition to its five different endings (find out how to unlock all of those here) the new Alone in the Dark also has a secret scene you can view in the attic, which provides an interesting look at a pivotal moment featuring Jeremy Hartwood. Like the game’s multiple endings, you unlock this scene by collecting a set of three “Lagniappes,” which is Alone in the Dark’s name for its various bonus collectibles. Specifically, you need to get “The Hartwood Curse” set, which is one of the trickiest to get in the game, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered…
The Hartwood Curse Lagniappe set consists of Alone in the Dark, Discarded Palette, and Witness the Black Pharaoh items.
- Alone in the Dark – This is located in the safe in the Clerk’s Office. You can get this quite early in the game if you know the combination (left 9, right 1, left 3).
- Discarded Palette – In the Hateful Mound sequence in Chapter 2, find it on the second floor of the Bridge House. Before you go out the window, squeeze through a gap in some boxes and barrels to find it.
- Witness the Black Pharaoh – Once you’ve got through the Pregzt Shipping Company section in Chapter 3 and are heading to the theatre, take a detour. There is a small area to the right of the theatre. The Black Pharaoh poster can be found on the wall.
Once you’ve collected all the above items, interact with the noose in the attic in Chapter 4.
And there you go – you’ve now filled in an extra little piece of Alone in the Dark’s story.
