Weappy Studio's upcoming 2D platforming adventure, The Eternal Life of Goldman, was showcased today during the Xbox Partner Preview event. We got a new trailer with a lot of new gameplay snippets we hadn't seen in previous trailers, and the news that a demo is now available for Xbox Series X/S players after it was already available on Steam.

We also learned that when The Eternal Life of Goldman does arrive, it'll be available on Xbox Game Pass on day-one. But, one key thing we did not learn from today's trailer, is when it'll be arriving, as it still, unfortunately, is without a specific release date.

It's unfortunate to get another big trailer for the game and still be without a release date, but hopefully with the demo now available on Xbox Series X/S consoles on top of it already being available on PC, that means we're nearing a point where we will finally get a proper release date.

Perhaps its publisher, THQ Nordic, is saving the release date for its next digital showcase. Or, since the game is also coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch, maybe the release date will arrive at an upcoming event hosted by either platform. Wherever it comes from, hopefully we'll know soon, so that we have a date to look forward to.

If you want to learn more about The Eternal Life of Goldman, you can check out my thoughts on the demo when it was first released on Steam as part of the first Steam Next Fest of 2026, and you'll understand why I'm so keen on this game getting a proper release date. Here's a bit of what I had to say:

"Not since Cuphead have I been so impressed with a game's animation and art style. The Eternal Life of Goldman's cartoon-style storybook-themed game is overflowing with charm and is one of the most striking games I've ever played."
