Apple's HomePod Smart Speaker Launching February 9, You Can Order It On Friday
As we have mentioned earlier, the HomePod will be available to buy in store from February 9 which means that the smart speaker from Apple should deliver in around the same time frame. If you're interested in purchasing Apple's HomePod, be sure to keep note of the said dates and details.
The HomePod in its own right is quite a mark in the smart speaker industry. It combines a premium outlook on the outside yet pack highly advanced technology on the inside. It packs a large woofer coupled with seven tweeters. According to Apple, the HomePod has the potential to deliver a ‘wide, spacious soundstage’. It has the potential to detect the surrounding room and adjust the internal speakers accordingly in order to optimize how the sound should be.
Apple is encouraging users with Apple Music subscription to get the HomePod. This is due to the fact that the company wants users to make use of the smart speaker to play any of the 40 million tracks on Apple Music catalog. Apart from this, the smart speaker also has the option available to answer rich questions related to the track being played. However, it does not seem likely that an Apple Music subscription is required. According to the press release, the HomePod will work with an iTunes library of purchased music as well.
Users also have the option available to set up multi-room music with multiple HomePods. Apple has also stated that the multi-room support will be available via a software update later this year. At the tie of launch, the feature will not be available. There are other features coming for the smart speaker as well which will require a software update in the near future. There will be more to the story, so be sure to stay tuned in for more.
