A few months after Hogwarts Legacy released on PC and current generation consoles, the open-world game developed by Avalanche Software finally launched last week on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, letting more people enjoy this solid video game adaptation of the Wizarding World. While the previous generation versions of the game are obviously not on par with the current generation releases, they are decent enough, although the game struggles the most to run on base Xbox One.

A new comparison video shared a few hours ago on YouTube by ElAnalistaDeBits highlights how, on base Xbox One, Hogwarts Legacy's most common resolution on Xbox One is 720p, a much lower resolution than the 1080p of the base Playstation 4 version, and the 1440p of the more powerful Xbox One X. Resolution isn't the only thing that sets the base Xbox One and Xbox One X versions apart, as on the more powerful console, the game features a higher level of texturing, whereas the Xbox One version has issues with textures and geometry loading. Like on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, despite cutbacks in resolution, assets, and long loading times, Hogwarts Legacy on Xbox One consoles is an acceptable port and a decent way to enjoy the game if no other option is available.

If there's one thing that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will help Hogwarts Legacy achieve are massive sales numbers, which are already massive, as the game managed to sell 15 million units on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S so far. With the current generation versions and the upcoming Nintendo Switch release, there's no doubt that Hogwarts Legacy will become one, if not the best, selling game of the year. Sales that are completely deserved, as the open-world game by Avalanche Software is a solid and entertaining title, as highlighted by Chris in his review.

Hogwarts Legacy is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide. The game will hit Nintendo Switch on July 25th.
