Now that Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 is finally available to all supported Pixel devices, it is worth noting that Google has made some really nice changes. The update is now available for Pixel 5a and going all the way up to the Pixel 8 series. However, at the moment, sideloading ends up bricking your Pixel phone, so it is better if you just go for the OTA update.

The Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 brings some minor but functional changes to the OS

As far as everything new in the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 is concerned, we are going to talk about all the changes that Google has introduced in the latest beta. Do note that this is subject to change with future updates.

When you adjust the brightness via the slider, there is now vibration feedback. This change was first spotted in Android 15 Developer Preview 1, and since it has appeared once again, it is likely to stay for future versions, too.

Another change that is carrying over from the first Android 15 Developer Preview is the existence of the keyboard vibration toggle. You can find this setting in Settings > Sound and Vibration > Vibration & haptics.

Moving forward, Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 also brings camera software extensions for better security. With the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2, there are some minor visual tweaks to the settings all over the device, and you are going to have to really look closely if you want to spot these settings.

Another minor change that we get to see is that instead of Passwords & autofill, Google has renamed it to Passwords, passkeys & autofill. Considering how passkeys are becoming all the more common, it makes sense why Google would include this in the latest Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.

The changes that Google has announced with the latest Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 might not be significant. It is safe to know that there will be more changes going forward, so if you have been waiting for them, we will keep you posted and let you know about all the changes that take place.

Quarterly Platform Releases are a blessing in disguise as they allow Google to make much-needed changes and updates to the Android operating system without making users wait for the major releases.

Do keep in mind that for some reason, the latest beta is bricking Pixel devices if you go for the factory image. So it is better just to download the OTA and install it that way to protect your data. Rest assured, Google has commented that it is safe to use, so there are not really issues that you should be running into.
