Today's Google I/O was mostly about Android 15 and other software that the company is working on. The Android 15 Beta 2 is also here, which means we are going to take a look at everything new that Google has introduced in the beta. Of course, sometimes, the changelog can be referred to if you are trying to figure out what's new, but with Android, it is always better to take a deep dive.

Majority of changes in Android 15 Beta 2 are under-the-hood with small visual tweaks

Our friends at 9to5Google have tested the latest Android 15 Beta 2 and shared everything new in it with us. Again, it is worth noting that the new version of Android is a bit more incremental in terms of visual changes, so most of the changes you will get are under the surface, which should not be an issue.

The first change is that Google has now elevated the Privacy dashboard in the Security & privacy setting.

Another change Google has made in the new Android 15 Beta 2 is that we now have a Quick Setting tile for hearing devices, which will make it easier for users to connect their hearing devices without any issues.

With Android 15 Beta 2, Google has also redesigned the volume panel. You can have a look at it below:

Another feature that is coming to Android 15 Beta 2 is Color contrast, which was previously part of the Developer options and did not really have a proper UI.

With Android 15 Beta 2, predictive back is here, and it is no longer a toggle in Developer options.

Android 15 Beta 2 also ensures that if you don't want the Pixel launcher to suggest an app, you can just ask it. Making the process a lot easier.

For the full list of changes, head over here. At this point, it is more than safe to say that Android 15 brings changes that are largely under the hood. If you have been looking for a major UI overhaul, then that is not what Google is going to bring. However, it is still nice to see that there are some minor tweaks that change how the OS looks.

Keep in mind that these Android 15 Beta 2 changes are limited to the vanilla version of Android, and the OEMs might change this based on their preferences and design language. Currently, almost all the Android OEMs have opened their own beta programs, which means that in the coming weeks, you are going to see a lot of news surrounding the latest update. As always, we will keep you posted.
