Last month, publisher Team17 and developer Expression Games announced that Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, the follow-up to the strategy-focused tactical World War II shooter Hell Let Loose, would arrive on June 18, 2026. That's no longer the case, however, as a statement from Team17 and Expression Games sent to Wccftech reveals it has been delayed following feedback collected from its open beta weekend. Now, it won't arrive until August 13, 2026.
The open beta test took place this past weekend on Steam, peaking at a concurrent player count of 24k players this past Saturday. While feedback from this past weekend's beta is informing the decision to delay the game by over a month, Expression Games and Team17 further clarified that the decision is also informed by internal playtests the teams have been running on both PC and consoles.
Issues identified in both the open beta test and the closed internal tests ultimately proved to warrant a delay, in the eyes of Expression Games and Team17. Now, its new release date almost brings it to launching exactly a year after it was revealed, since it was first showcased during Gamescom 2025.
"To those of you who played the Open Beta over the weekend, we hope you enjoyed your time going hands-on with Hell Let Loose: Vietnam ahead of launch," the statement beings. "We have been so excited watching you share your experiences, seeing the great videos from our War Correspondents and being able to receive and implement your important feedback throughout both our Closed and Open Betas."
"In addition to your feedback, we have also been carrying out intensive internal playtests for both the PC and Console versions of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and we have identified several areas where additional development time will allow us to deliver a stronger launch experience. Therefore, after careful consideration, we have decided to delay launch to August 13th. This will ensure that Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launches at the quality level we expect and you deserve."
In the grand scheme of things, it's not the biggest delay, so players looking forward to Hell Let Loose: Vietnam aren't on the hook for too much longer. It's also not the worst reveal-to-release time for it to be seven days off from a full 365 days.
Hopefully, this is the only delay the game requires, and players can mark their calendars for August 13, 2026, without having to change it again.
