Halo 5: Guardians To Deliver on The Promise of The Halo Universe

343 Industries and Microsoft have released two new live action trailers for Halo 5: Guardians, last night, and announced an October 27 release for the title. 343 Industries studio head Bonnie Ross, has released a statement revealing some more details on the hugely anticipated title.

Ross explains that they wanted Halo 5 to deliver on the promise of the Halo universe, while creating a sense of amazement by the size of the worlds and battles, as well as reevaluate the whole lore of the franchise.

“We wanted Halo 5: Guardians to be the game that pays off the epic promise of the Halo universe in scope and scale and drama,"

“We want to amaze players with the sheer size of the worlds and battles they’ll experience, even as they question everything they thought they knew about its heroes, marvels, and mysteries."

The Hunt the Truth segment is "only the beginning" for the Halo 5 marketing campaign. She then promised more details about Halo 5 during E3 2015, in June.

The two ads that can be viewed below, are indicative of the premise of Halo 5: Guardians. There is a lot of emphasis on a powerful dynamic between the two characters.

Both episodes of HUNT the TRUTH, can be listened to below. They feature a BEHIND THE STORY OF THE MASTER CHIEF, that details journalist and war photographer Benjamin Giraud in a weekly episodic investigation into the origins of modern-day superhero Master Chief.

What began as a high-profile hero story quickly turns into a full-blown investigation. Sources claim they know the “real Master Chief”: The boy, the soldier, the hero…the traitor? But who’s telling the truth?

Benjamin Giraud

Journalist. War photographer.

For decades, I’ve served the galaxy as a journalist and war photographer. I’ve covered human-interest stories on Earth and in the Inner and Outer Colonies. I’ve also contracted for the government, covering military affairs. I was at New Mombasa when the Master Chief first appeared to combat the Covenant attack.

As Bonnie Ross mentioned, this is only the beginning of the marketing campaign for Halo 5: Guardians, and more will be revealed, leading up to E3 in June where 343 Industries and Microsoft will demonstrate the game with most likely a gameplay trailer. As has been already mentioned, Halo 5 will be a "hugely innovative title", and judging from the live action trailers, this might actually be true. It could feature an extremely powerful relationship between Master Chief and Spartan Locke, with a great focus on the different shades of perception governing the two protagonists.

Halo 5: Guardians is being released on October 27 2015 for the Xbox One. We will bring you any new information as soon as it becomes available. Be sure to check our previous coverage for more information here and here.
