An announcement or reveal related to the Half-Life series may be coming during this year's Gamescom, judging from a recent finding.

As spotted by Reddit user ItzDarko42, Gamescom's official companion app reveals that Valve will be among the exhibitors of this year's edition, which, by itself, doesn't mean much. However, among the related tags is Half-Life, which seems to suggest that the series will be present in some capacity at the event.

After so many years since the release of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, it seems unlikely that Valve will ever release the coveted Episode Three. Still, the series is not dormant, as Valve released Half-Life: Alyx back in 2020, although the game ended up not being as popular as previous entries in the series due to the fact that it is a VR-only game. As this game is rumored to be coming to PS VR2 in the future, this new version of Half-Life: Alyx could be the announcement Valve could be making during this year's edition of Gamescom, which will be held from August 23rd to August 27th in Cologne, Germany.

No matter what is getting announced, we will keep you updated on the matter as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
