God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla is going to feature an endgame challenge so difficult that no one on the development team was able to complete it at the highest difficulty level.

Speaking on X/Twitter, Valhalla Game Director Mihir Sheth revealed the roguelike DLC expansion launching today features one endgame challenge that no one on the development team was able to complete at the Show Me Mastery difficulty level.

Talking about the difficulty settings for God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla, the Game Director also revealed how, while it is possible to switch between them, it won't be possible to do so during a run, so players need to commit to a difficulty setting before beginning one.

God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla was officially announced last week during this year's The Game Awards show. The DLC expansion will be an epilogue to the events of the main game, seeing Kratos embark on a personal journey to overcome trials within himself and face echoes of the past. Like in every other modern roguelike worthy of its name, players will be able to get some temporary buffs to help them in their run and obtain some permanent upgrades that will make it easier to experience everything this expansion has to offer.

God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla launches today as a free DLC on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. You can learn more about the excellent base game by checking out our review.
