The incredibly impressive AORUS 17H has returned to its previous low price of $1,749 on Amazon, making it one of the most affordable RTX 4080-powered gaming laptops listed on the online retailer. With its bigger 17.3-inch screen size, GIGABYTE’s latest machine can let the CPU and GPU pairing run at full tilt thanks to a robust cooling solution, offering the best possible performance from a product you can carry around. While we do not favor laptops sporting that 17-inch display size thanks to their sheer footprint when the deal is this good, we can ignore some of our personal preferences.
The AORUS 17H has a tanky chassis, with the majority of the construction made out of aluminum, and for those who want to be noticed when out in the public thanks to that ‘gamer DNA’ design that GIGABYTE has chosen for this gaming laptop, this model is definitely the one for you. Its RTX 4080 GPU features 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM, and it can run up to 175W thanks to NVIDIA’s Dynamic Boost technology. Perhaps our only gripe with this version is that it ships with a 1080p, 360Hz display, and not a 1440p one, but that little setback can be resolved by purchasing an external QHD monitor, as these will not burn a hole in your wallet.
Complementing the Intel Core i7-13700H and the RTX 4080 is 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 1TB of PCIe NVMe Gen 4 storage. Both the onboard memory and RAM can be upgraded in the future, and given how demanding games and other applications have become, it is best that you mentally prepare yourself for another purchase real soon. The ports selection is generous from GIGABYTE, with even Thunderbolt 4 making an entry here. The 99.9WHr battery is the legal limit for what can be added to a laptop and is allowed to be carried on a plane. Typically, Intel-powered gaming laptops do not offer the best runtime.
However, the AORUS 17H surprised us with its endurance, and if you are engaged in light to moderate tasks, you can easily net between seven to eight hours of battery life. There is little doubt that the pricing is ‘spot on’ on Amazon, as just a while back, this particular GIGABYTE gaming laptop was going for $2,199. However, we would not stick around for another discount and make the most of this opportunity if we were you.
