NVIDIA has just released a new Game Ready driver (version 552.44) optimized for Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, a full week ahead of the game's release on PC (which comes four years after the original launch on PlayStation 4).

As previously reported, NVIDIA worked alongside Nixxes to implement some of its key technologies into the game, including DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Frame Generation, DLAA, and Reflex. As such, the game will undoubtedly run at far higher frame rates than it ever could on PlayStation consoles.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut includes the base game and the additional Iki island content, which comes with a whole new story and characters, new environments, new armor for Jin and for his horse, new mini-games, new techniques, new enemy types, and new animals to pet.

Even the base game on its own would be more than enough to warrant the attention of PC gamers, though. In my review of the PS4 version, I rated Ghost of Tsushima 9 out of 10:

Ghost of Tsushima is Sucker Punch's best game yet and a great open world title capable of measuring to some of the biggest names in the genre. The excellent rendition of feudal Japan, along with its well-written characters and story, make Ghost of Tsushima stand out as the last must-have PlayStation 4 exclusive.

On PC, Ghost of Tsushima will also be the first game to feature the new PlayStation overlay, which lets PSN players access their Friend list, unlock Trophies, and tweak settings and profiles. The multiplayer Legends mode will feature crossplay with PlayStation consoles, but it also still has the PSN account requirement that sent Helldivers 2 gamers into overdrive until Sony overturned that decision. We'll see whether another controversy will ensue upon the game's release.

The Game Ready driver is also optimized for Homeworld 3 and ensures Resizable BAR is enabled for Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut.

In other NVIDIA news, the following five games will be added to the GeForce NOW cloud platform this week:
