Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus pricing for South Korea

Samsung is said to officially announce the Galaxy S24 series on January 17, with the flagship trio also getting unveiled in the company’s home turf of South Korea. The company was previously rumored to keep the prices unchanged compared to the Galaxy S23, but additional information claims that this level of consistency will not be applicable to every storage variant.

Higher-tier storage versions of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus are priced slightly more than direct predecessors, claims new rumor

The latest rumor from Korea states that regardless of which Galaxy S24 Ultra model you purchase, it will be more expensive than the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The base version that comes with 256GB of onboard storage is said to be priced at KRW 1,698,400, or approximately $1,295 (price increased by KRW 99,000, or $83), assuming the current exchange rate estimation turns out to be within the margin of error. Going by these numbers, the 512GB variant will be more expensive, which is not shocking to hear.

Coming to the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, Samsung apparently intends to keep the 256GB models’ pricing consistent with last year, which should encourage customers to make an upgrade since they will be charged the same amount that they had to fork over previously for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus. However, for the 512GB models, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus are said to be KRW 22,000 ($18.5) more expensive, which is a minuscule amount.

However, remember that these rumored prices are only for South Korea, whereas in the U.S. and other regions, the varying exchange rates could mean customers in those countries have to pay more or less for each model. Overall, the Galaxy S24 Plus may grow in popularity this year because, according to an earlier specifications leak, this ‘middle of the pack’ flagship is said to feature a slightly bigger display than the Galaxy S23 Plus and pack the same 12GB LPDDR5X RAM count as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, while being cheaper.

Though it might be inferior in other areas, such as the camera array, the design, or the battery capacity, Samsung has significantly improved the Galaxy S24 Plus this year, at least on paper. For an in-depth comparison, we recommend waiting for the official announcements to conclude before we provide our thoughts on the upcoming handsets, so stay tuned.
