Samsung surprised everyone at the Galaxy Unpacked when the company announced the Galaxy Ring. Sadly, at that time, the South Korean tech firm did not reveal much about the smart ring or when it was going to come out. Now, there are more details available about its release date, and it seems like my speculation about the release date was true, as new information reveals that the ring is going to come out during the second half of this year, which puts the potential release date alongside the release of the new Galaxy wearable.
Galaxy Ring to go official alongside the Galaxy Watch 7 series sometime in July
The Global Head of B2B Wearable/IoT/Accessory at Samsung Electronics, Daniel Seung, confirmed on LinkedIn that the company will be introducing its new health & wellness wearable product in the 2nd half” of this year.
Now, the reason why this makes the most sense is that if you are keeping track of Samsung's wearable releases, they release alongside the company's foldable phones. This means that the new Galaxy Ring is going to go official alongside the Galaxy Watch 7 series, completing Samsung's wearable portfolio. I expect the ring to go official sometime in July.
As far as the information on the Galaxy Ring is concerned, we have not heard a lot of official information about the ring, but an analyst talked about how the ring is available in three finishes, is incredibly light, and will be offered in a number of sizes. The one thing that I love about the new smart ring is that there is a possibility that it could offer all the health metrics and fitness-related features that we find in the Galaxy Watch, but since I am against the idea of smartwatches, I think a smart ring would be the perfect wearable accessory.
Sadly, as far as the renders are concerned and other information is concerned about the looks, we are still not sure what the Galaxy Ring is going to look like. But then again, how can a smart ring look any different than it is in the first place? I am expecting Samsung to offer the ring in titanium as it would allow it to be a lot lighter in weight and more durable, too. Although July is still six months away, we can expect a ton of details in the coming months, so be sure that you are keeping up to date.
