Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked Event 2024 finally happened, and we saw the release of the plethora of devices that were long in the limelight of tech news. We were also informed about the advanced Galaxy AI capabilities that are coming to the devices. Although the company unveiled some major products today, the tech giant's new category at the big event seemed to have grabbed quite the attention. The Galaxy Ring marks the company moving in a new direction and was a significant announcement at the Unpacked.
The Galaxy Ring is here to revolutionize health-focused devices with its advanced features that can monitor stress, heart rate, snoring, and more
Samsung launched its first smart ring today, signaling the company's pivot into the wearable category. This innovative product is gaining attention among the tech community due to its promising features.
There are tons of advanced health capabilities coming to the smart ring, including health metrics to monitor heart rate and stress levels, making it a comprehensive device for managing health and wellness. It even includes the option to monitor body and skin temperature and, with some information, predict the menstrual cycle along with fertility tracking.
It comes with three advanced health sensors that assist the innovative fitness and health functions. One of the most interesting health features of the Galaxy Ring is its ability to track snoring and breathing patterns to provide detailed insights into users' overall well-being. Users only have to keep the device nearby for Samsung's Health app to record the data. Although the snoring pattern analysis feature is not limited to the new smart ring, as the Galaxy Watch already offers this advancement, the functionality extending to a compact health monitoring device will surely be very useful for users.
As for the other health metrics, the smart ring comes equipped with The Energy Score feature, which offers great functionality by keeping track of your energy levels and overall well-being throughout the day. This feature also gives suggestions accordingly to improve upon the not-so-optimal readings, if any. Additionally, the small device has a Heart Rate Alert, which would bring it to your notice if your heart rate is not ideal and/or if trouble is sensed.
As previous reports speculated, the Galaxy ring is launched in nine different sizes and is available in three color variants: gold, silver, and black. Since the smart ring is something you can wear for a prolonged period for continuous monitoring, the company made the ring significantly lightweight, sporting a titanium build so that it is comfortable to wear and has a sleek design.
Additionally, Samsung's Galaxy Ring has an impressive battery capacity of 14.5mAh to 21.5mAh, eliminating the need to constantly plug it in for charging and allowing users to wear it for a longer period on a single charge that lasts up to 7 days. The new Galaxy ring is priced at $399 and is available for pre-orders in the U.S. for now.
