Final Fantasy XIV New Screenshots Showcase Patch 4.2 Rise Of A New Sun

A new batch of screenshots has been released for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV 4.2 update named Rise of a New Sun.

The new screenshots, which can be found below, showcase sequences from the main storyline, including the return of Gotsetsu, and the new Primal, Byakko.

The Final Fantasy XIV 4.2 update will bring players to Doma for a new chapter in the main story. Additionally, the update will include plenty of new content and tweaks which have yet to be detailed in full.

In the upcoming patch, titled Rise of a New Sun, players will turn their gaze to Doma in the next chapter of the main scenario quest line. The patch also introduces numerous updates including challenging new trials and dungeons, a large update to the glamour system, a number of system enhancements, and the highly anticipated Forbidden Land of Eureka. A list of initially announced content updates for the patch are listed below:

  • New Main Scenario and Side Quests
  • New Raid Dungeon
  • The Forbidden Land of Eureka
  • Glamour System Updates
  • The Feast PvP Updates
  • Housing Updates
  • New Primal Battle
  • New Dungeons
  • A New Duty Recorder Feature
  • Updates to bard’s performance actions, additional inventory through the use of a new companion storage feature, and more.

Final Fantasy XIV 4.2 update has yet to receive a final release date, but it should be out sometime next month.
