Facebook Introduces Marketplace For a Convenient Buying And Selling Experience
Facebook today has seen fit to introduce Marketplace - a convenient place where Facebook users can easily buy and sell items in their local community. According to Facebook, a lot of people visit buy/sell groups on its site every month. Statistically, 450 million people tend to make use of buying or selling groups in order to purchase goods. Facebook's move for a dedicated platform for buying and selling will make things easier for people. Let's see some more details on what Marketplace has to offer users and its availability.
Facebook Introduces Marketplace To Make Buying And Selling Easier In Local Community
Marketplace is easy to operate with a shop icon located on the bottom tab of the app. The tab will show you items for sale that other people near you have posted. You also have the option to search for a specific item that you want to purchase. Items are sorted under various different categories like Electronics, Household and so on. This will make it easier for users to find items that they wish to purchase.
You can tap on the listing of the product you like for more details, which also includes product photos and seller's description of that product. If you like a product, you can also save it for later. However, you have to personally contact the person for payment details, unlike something that is well integrated in Craiglist. Moreover, you also have to figure out how you want the product to be delivered.
Marketplace is not just for purchasing purposes. You can also post ads for items that you wish to sale. All you have to do is take pictures of the product, upload them and add a desired relevant description. All the items that you have put for sale in the Marketplace can be tracked from the Your Item section of the app.
Initially, Facebook will roll out Marketplace in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. It will be launched on both iOS and Android, so there's nothing to worry about its exclusivity. Facebook's service to buy and sell products is available for users who are at least 18 years old. The service will continue to expand in more regions by the passage of time. Moreover, Facebook will also roll out Marketplace on Desktop in the coming months. We will let you know more details as soon as we hear them, so be sure to stay tuned for that.
This is it for now, folks. What are your thoughts on Facebook's Marketplace service? Do you think it is an easier way to buy and sell products online? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
