After unveiling the GeForce RTX 4060 Series of graphics cards, NVIDIA also made some DLSS 3 announcements today.

Firstly, DLSS Frame Generation has been added to the latest version (2.4.5) of D5 Render, the popular 3D rendering software compatible with SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, Archicad, Rhino, C4D, and Blender.

D5 Render already supported DLSS 2, but with DLSS 3, the frame rate nearly doubles when using GeForce RTX 40 GPUs, which is going to be useful both during production and when demonstrating work progress to clients.

Of course, NVIDIA DLSS 3 announcements are usually related to new games, and today is no exception. The upcoming post-apocalyptic shooter MMO Ashfall will also support DLSS Frame Generation on day one. To accompany the news, NVIDIA showcased a 4K gameplay reveal trailer of the game developed by Legendary Star Studio and published by NetEase Games.

As some of you may remember, there are two upcoming games named Ashfall. The other game is in development at Liithos, a company founded by former Sony veterans John Garvin and Michael Mumbauer, with the latter quick to point out the similarities between the two titles.

At any rate, NetEase's game is the one that's getting DLSS 3 support. Their Ashfall is a cross-platform (PC/mobile) title set in an Eastern-inspired wasteland where players take the role of Wanderers, roaming various biomes like deserts and mountains in search of the mythical Core of Creation, an item of legend that is said to have the potential to heal the world.

In terms of gameplay, Ashfall is said to be a third-person shooter with cover elements where players explore perilous dungeons in search of loot. Other elements include crafting, home building, and puzzles. A beta test will take place in July, giving players a chance to try the game ahead of the full launch planned for later this year. Meanwhile, Ashfall, whose music will be composed by legends such as Hans Zimmer, Steve Mazzaro, and Inon Zur, can be wishlisted on Steam.

Beyond these two DLSS 3 announcements, NVIDIA also confirmed that DLSS 2 is available now in Voidtrain, The Outlast Trials, Bus Simulator 21, KartKraft, and Moon Runner.

In other fresh NVIDIA news, Gears 5 is available today via the GeForce NOW cloud streaming service as Microsoft's first game on the platform, with Deathloop, Grounded, and Pentiment coming to GFN next week.
