YouTuber SuperRebel, has shared his thoughts regarding some details about Tom Clancy's The Division.
The official site revealed some artwork featuring the Cleaners, which are equipped with incendiary equipment. Their mission is to eradicate all traces of the virus. Their allegiance changes throughout the game.
Alpha testers, are claiming that despite the game's emphasis on online play, players will be able to experience the game the way they want to. So players who want to play The Division in single player, they can still enjoy the game.
We will probably get a specific release date during E3 in June, as well as a lot more information on The Division.
A devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, a classified unit of self-supported tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, The Division agents are trained to operate independently of command, as all else fails. Fighting to prevent the fall of society, the agents will find themselves caught up in an epic conspiracy, forced to combat not only the effects of a manmade virus, but also the rising threat of those behind it. When everything collapses, your mission begins.
According to Lead Writer, Meghan Watt
“the idea of the Cleaners started circulating two years ago.” “Generally speaking, the Narrative team wrote dozens of proposals for factions that they felt would arise from the sort of situation we’ve created in the game. The designers then grabbed a hold of what they thought would best suit the gameplay, and we started to iterate on a few of our favorite picks.” Meghan explained.
“When you start to see signs of the virus it’s likely the Cleaners won’t be too far away. As they get closer you’ll hear the rumble of their flame throwers and see the glow in the distance, especially at night. They leave a trail of fiery destruction everywhere they go so if you start seeing burnt out cars, charred bodies and cracked black tarmac you might want to change course.”
The Cleaners, in an effort to eliminate the virus, they roam the streets, so engagements with them will vary depending on how you encounter them.
Tom Clancy’s The Division will release in 2015, on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We will bring any new information on the game, as soon as it becomes available.
