A stunning Deus Ex RTX Remix mod is now available for download, introducing path tracing in the classic first-person game.

The mod, which can be downloaded here, is actually the Echelon Renderer, which adds RTX Remix support and, thus, path tracing. This renderer uses the real lights from the map data and passes them on to RTX Remix, although spotlights still do not update properly due to a current RTX Remix limitation. The renderer also features stable geometry, greatly reducing flickering, and some compatibility hacks that address some of the issues modern hardware has running the game.

The release of this Deus Ex RTX Remix mod is extremely welcome, considering there may not be a new entry in the series in a very long time, if ever. Earlier this year, it was reported that Embrace Group, owner of Eidos, canceled a new entry in the series which has been in development in some capacity for around two years. As developer Eidos Montreal apparently wanted to do what Cyberpunk 2077 didn't with their new game, the cancelation is even more disappointing.

The latest entry in the Deus Ex series is Mankind Divided. You can learn more about it by checking out Alessio's review.

Could it be better? Most certainly, as pointed out in the review. But Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is already great as it is, and you would be remiss to leave it hanging in physical (or digital) stores if you care the slightest bit about RPGs with a deep story, lots of choices and a cyberpunk setting.
