In the Metal Gear series, creator Hideo Kojima touched upon a variety of very interesting themes that are hardly explored by other video games. With him now being free to create his own game without any limitation, many are wondering what Death Stranding is going to be about. According to actor Norman Reedus, the game's concept is mind-blowing.

In a recent podcast by B&H Photography, as reported by Metal Gear Informer, Norman Reedus talked about Death Stranding. Specifically, he mentioned how the game's concept is ahead of its time and the opposite of what video games are about.

The concept is so mind-blowing, because it’s not like, you know, "kill everybody and win the game", it’s a connecting thing. It’s like the opposite. And, you know, it’s so ahead of its time. And there’s elements of social media in it, and the idea is that, you know, you have so many games, and so many parts of millennial culture I guess, is being alone in a room. And you lose physical contact with people. This is after that and the re-establishing of that physical contact.

The latest Death Stranding trailer has been shown during last year's The Game Awards, and it seems like we won't have to wait much more to hear something new about the game, as Hideo Kojima is planning to make an announcement sometime this year that will surprise everyone.

Death Stranding launches on a yet to be confirmed release date on PlayStation 4.
