The continuous rise in DDR5 memory will make it more difficult for users to upgrade or build new PCs from scratch.

Germany Witnesses Another Small Hike in DDR5 RAM Prices as a Result of 2x 32 GB DDR5 Kits Becoming More Expensive

There have been some ups and downs in DDR5 memory prices in the past few months. Thanks to the absurd AI boom, DDR5 memory kits are not seeing any relief in prices and have continued to spiral upwards. In most regions, DDR5 memory modules continue to sell for 4X-5X higher prices, and the same goes for Germany. However, the region previously saw some relief in prices, but it was short-lived.

After declining from a 440% price index in February to 410% in March, DDR5 memory kits started climbing back again. Even though the prices aren't as high as they were in January and February this year, they are still above 400% compared to July 2025 levels. As per the latest data from across several German retailers, the prices for DDR5 memory modules have risen again in June, reaching 419% of the July 2025 levels.

A major impact came from the 2x 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit, which rose by almost 22% in price in just a single month. The memory kit, which used to sell for just 208 Euros in July 2025, hit almost 1000 Euros a couple of months ago, and it's back at its peak once again. Other memory kits such as 2x 32 GB DDR5-6400 CL32 also saw a small hike in price, but for most RAM kits, the prices were unaffected.

Most kits saw a 1-3% rise or decline in prices, but some got a good 10% reduction in prices, such as the 2x 16 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit that used to sell for 464 Euros last month but is currently selling at 417 Euros. Overall, the average DDR5 memory price rose from 414% to 419% in a single month, and a major contributor is that single 2x 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit that is likely seeing significant demand.

If this trend continues, we will see the DDR5 price index approach 500% by the end of this year.
