Colorful has expanded its iGame Ultra Z lineup which features a neat cable management solution to its GeForce RTX 4060 GPU family.

Colorful Aims At Reducing Cable Management Hassle With Its iGame Ultra Z GeForce RTX 40 GPU Lineup

It hasn't been the first time since we have seen hidden connectors within Colorful GPUs, since a few months ago, the company launched its GeForce RTX 4070 iGame Ultra Z OC & simultaneously announced plans for GeForce RTX 4060 Ti & GeForce RTX 4060, getting a similar treatment. Now, both cards have officially been revealed. The variants include the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB, and the RTX 4060 8 GB.

In the industry by far, we have seen a lot of innovative stuff when it comes to power delivery methods such as "cableless designs" and "side-placed connectors", but Colorful has managed to actually fit in the 8-pin connector below the backplate of the GPU, which is secured by magnets, offering more utility as well as easier cable management. Having your wires running down the backplate will hide the annoying cables, creating a much more "refined" look for your PC.

We certainly appreciate Colorful's approach here, since innovation is always met with excitement however, the connector placement could potentially give rise to problems, such as a much higher cable bending. Since your wires would have to run into some portion of your backplate, experiencing cable bending is unavoidable here, which can result in disruptions within the power delivery process.

Moreover, seeing it from a neutral perspective, it might be difficult for an average consumer to mount their GPUs instantaneously like the traditional designs, which will ultimately cause barriers to the adoption of the "connector placement". Colorful has disclosed the fact that the new GPUs will come with a minor thickness bump as well, to accommodate the cable management mechanism, and this may bother some consumers as well.

Now, Colorful hasn't disclosed the official pricing of their new GPUs yet, but based on the fact that they come with a new connector placement, they will surely be above the currently retailing ones. We expect the company to unveil more information soon, hence stay tuned.
