What a time to be alive for everyone missing physical keyboards on smartphones. Clicks is here to give you a shot of nostalgia with a lot of modern technology, as this accessory is basically a physical keyboard that is built from scratch, complete with backlit keys, shortcuts, and more. So, if you are looking for something that actually brings back the feeling of having a physical keyboard attached to your phone, then this is it.
Clicks brings back the nostalgia for iPhone users with tactile, backlit keys with shortcuts
Clicks was cofounded by Michael Fisher or MrMobile for those who spend too much time on YouTube. This is a tactile keyboard accessory for iPhones, and it works just as a case. You can attach it to your device via the charging port, and it even has a power pass-through so you can charge your device without having to take off the case. It does come with backlighting, as well as shortcuts, and more. If you have an iPhone 15 Pro and you are looking for something fancy, this is it. You can check the video below:
Now, you know that a product is made with great thought because when you do connect the Clicks to your iPhone, the on-screen keyboard slides down, allowing the user to have more real estate on the screen. At the time of writing, the keyboard supported the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro series, and there are other iPhones that are going to be supported in the future. Note that the keyboard itself does not have a battery, which means that it will take power from your phone, which would result in a reduced battery life. But hey, you are getting a backlit keyboard with shortcuts that will allow you to have an easier user experience.
However, with any accessory that attaches to your phone and connects via the charging port, there are a few trade-offs, and the same is the case with Clicks. For instance, you will not be able to use MagSafe, but future models could bring the support. You cannot attach the keyboard accessory to other cases on the phone. The case is not at all water resistant, and although CarPlay passthrough works, the compatibility is only extended to phones with Lightning port and not USB-C. Wired EarPods will not work with the case.
At the time of writing, Clicks can only be bought in yellow or blue, but MrMobile did mention that there are going to be more colors in the future. If you are interested in getting one, you can pick one up for the iPhone 14 Pro for $139; the same is the cost for the iPhone 15 Pro model. If you want the one for the 15 Pro Max, you will need to spend $159. You can check the product lineup here.
