Blizzard Entertainment has announced a flurry of showcases, all coming within the next two weeks, as part of the reveal of its Next Chapter as Blizzard celebrates its 35th anniversary. There's an event for all four of the storied developers' biggest ongoing franchises, including World of Warcraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, and Overwatch.
"We’re kicking off 2026 with the Blizzard Showcase, a series of developer-led spotlights featuring big announcements, sneak peeks, and teases across our universes," Blizzard writes in a blog post on its official website.
"As we look toward the future, this event celebrates the artists, makers, and visionaries behind our games, and our players who bring them to life, as we celebrate 35 years of community and craft."
Kicking this flurry of events off is a World of Warcraft: State of Azeroth showcase set for this coming Friday, January 29, 2026, at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BT. According to a post on the official World of Warcraft X (formerly Twitter) account, the showcase will include a roadmap for the modern and classic versions of the game, a Dark Portal housing item, and more. We may even get another look at the upcoming Midnight expansion, for which Blizzard just released a pre-expansion update.
Following Friday's showcase, on February 4, 2026, at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BT, Blizzard will host an Overwatch Spotlight showcasing what's coming next for the Overwatch franchise, and five days later it will host a Hearthstone Spotlight at 9:30am PT / 12:30pm ET / 5:30pm BT all to do with what's next for Hearthstone. Finally, capping off this blizzard of Blizzard showcases is the Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight on February 11, 2026, at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BT.
"Our extraordinarily talented teams have assembled a stellar line-up for our players across our universes," said Blizzard Entertainment president Johanna Faries, in a press release. "This major showcase event comes at a significant moment in time as we reflect on three and a half decades of Blizzard history and our big ambitions for the future. This is only the start of what we'll share around our games this year, and we can't wait to bring it to life."
