AUO Announces Various High-End Gaming Monitors at Touch Taiwan 2026, Including Dual Mode 4K Display and World's First 1080p 24-inch 800 Hz monitor

At the Touch Taiwan 2026 event, the monitor maker AUO announced updates on its display technologies, including the mass production of its Micro LED. Among the new displays, a couple of high refresh rate monitors were also announced, which supposedly include the world's first 24-inch 1080p gaming monitor that can run at an 800 Hz refresh rate.

If you have been reading the high-refresh-rate monitor launches, you might be aware that a few manufacturers have already announced their super high refresh rate monitor models this year, as well as last. This includes the 750 Hz monitor by HKC and a 1000 Hz monitor by Antgamer, scheduled for 2026 launch. AOC and Acer soon followed up with their own 1000 Hz displays, breaking the 1000 Hz mark before other popular vendors.

AUO has developed the world's first (*)24-inch FHD 800Hz ultra-high-refresh-rate gaming monitor, as well as dual-mode switchable 32-inch 4K 360Hz and 27-inch 5K 180Hz high-resolution displays to meet the demands for high-speed frame updates and low-latency interaction...

So, AUO's 800 Hz monitor isn't the fastest, but it's the first monitor to reach 800 Hz refresh rate on a standard 24-inch panel at 1080p resolution. Apart from this model, AUO also announced displays with a dual-mode configuration, featuring 4K@360Hz and 5K@180Hz to deliver immersive gaming and high-refresh-rate modes for a competitive gaming experience.

AUO hasn't announced the availability or pricing for these displays, and given that these were only announcements, it will take time for these monitors to enter the market officially.
