Atlas Fallen, the action role-playing game in development by Deck13 for PC and consoles, will not release this coming May as the development team needs more time to deliver the best possible experience.

With a new message shared on Twitter, Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive confirmed that the game will release worldwide on August 10th, 2023, instead of May 16th. While thanking fans and critics for the support the game received so far, the developer and the publisher wanted to give the game more time to deliver the best possible version of Atlas Fallen's engaging action role-playing game experience and seamless drop-in co-op. Thankfully, the game won't disappear from players' radars until release, as more on its gameplay and co-op features will be shared in early Summer.

While delays are always disappointing, it is undeniable that Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive may have made the right choice to delay Atlas Fallen a few months. Not only was the game releasing in a very busy period alongside plenty of highly anticipated games such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Atlas Fallen looked rough around the edges when it came to performance and other elements, as reported in some of the previews shared earlier this month. The game looks very interesting in the gameplay footage shared so far, so it would have been a shame to release it in a bad state that would have prevented it from reaching its full potential.

Atlas Fallen launches on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on August 10th worldwide.
