The first Radeon RX 9070 GRE is about to launch in a couple of days as ASUS introduces its ATS RX 9070 GRE OC edition.
ASUS Unveils ATS RX 9070 GRE O12G on Official Website: This Chinese-Exclusive Card will Utilize NAVI 48 Die and will Come with 12 GB of VRAM Capacity
AMD typically launches GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) GPUs for the Chinese market exclusively. In previous generations, AMD has launched GPUs like the Radeon RX 6750 GRE, RX 7600 GRE, RX 7900 GRE, etc., and with the introduction of RDNA 4 GPUs, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE will be the first RDNA 4-based GPU for the Chinese market.
It is unknown whether this card will make it to worldwide stores since only the RX 7900 GRE remains an exception. As spotted by @momomo_us, AMD's board partner, ASUS, has prepared the page for its custom ATS RX 9070 GRE O12G edition on its official website. This particular edition was previously spotted on a Chinese retailer called JD and is expected to launch in China on 8th May.

The full specifications are out, and it will utilize a cut-down NAVI 48 die that will feature 3072 Stream Processors, and will be coupled with 12 GB GDDR6 VRAM, rated at a TBP of 220W. It comes factory overclocked and can be boosted up to 2880 MHz in the OC mode. The card will be powered by two 8-pin PCI-E power connectors and will require a 750W PSU capacity as recommended by the manufacturer. Unlike the RX 9070 XT and non-XT cards with up to 16 GB VRAM, the RX 9070 GRE is a more affordable product that will fill the gap between the RX 9060 XT and RX 9070.

The exact details of the performance aren't known yet, but it is going to be noticeably slower than the RX 9070 if we compare the specs. Nonetheless, it will be a somewhat better solution than the RX 9060 XT with only 8 GB VRAM capacity, and will feature a starting price tag of 4,199 RMB. This particular model is priced at 4,499 RMB but will be available at 4,476 RMB if users pre-order it before its official release.
After deducting the 20% VAT, the price comes down to around 3359 RMB, which translates to around US$450, which is almost $100 lower than the official MSRP of RX 9070.
