Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced continues to be one leaky ship. After the game's existence was revealed long before its official announcement (something that Ubisoft itself acknowledged), new footage of the highly anticipated remake leaked online, showing how the game's visuals will be on par with those of the best-looking entry in the series to date: last year's Assassin's Creed Shadows.

The leaked footage, shared on X by KAMI, is most likely lifted from the game's official trailer which will officially make its debut in a few days, on April 23. While it does not feature any gameplay, the footage does a good job showcasing how the game's visuals have been improved over the original game, which was originally released as a launch PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game.

However, the visual improvements look even more impressive when put side-by-side with the original game. X user Lowkey made a quick comparison based on the leaked footage showcasing how character models have been massively improved in terms of detail, polygon count, and even animations, looking at the character's postures, while keeping extremely faithful to the original's aesthetics.

Following the leaked footage, more screenshots also emerged online, showcasing Edward and Caroline, updated mission UI, and more. As the footage already suggested, the game looks quite close to Assassin's Creed Shadows in many ways, interface included.

Although we have known about Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced for a good while, details on the remake are still hazy. Last year, it was reported that the modern-day sections of the original game that had players play as an unnamed Abstergo research analyst have been cut, while more quests had been added for the game's main character, Edward Kenway. Naval gameplay, one of the highlights of the original, will reportedly also get improved with seamless ship-to-land gameplay.

Thankfully, it won't take long to see the remake of one of the most popular entries in the series to date. As already mentioned, one of gaming's worst-kept secrets will be revealed on April 23.
