Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon

A new Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon comparison video was shared online today, highlighting the differences between the console and PC versions of the latest game by FromSoftware.

The new comparison, which was put together by ElAnalistaDeBits, confirms the resolutions for both Performance and Quality modes. In Quality Mode, the game runs at dynamic 1440p, around 40 FPS on Xbox Series S, and at dynamic 2160p, around 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. In Performance Mode, the game runs at the same resolutions as Quality Mode but at 60 FPS. This is achieved with lower graphics settings and possibly a wider dynamic resolution range on all platforms, as can be seen in the video.

While Performance Mode in Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is supposed to offer 60 FPS gameplay, in reality, the game has some trouble keeping a steady framerate on all consoles, with the exception of PlayStation 5, which manages to keep the 60 FPS target more steadily. However, the differences with the Xbox Series X version are minimal, so the experience won't be that much different. As always, players with a powerful PC will be able to enjoy the game at its fullest at true 4K resolution and over 60 FPS, which is a first for any FromSoftware game.

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is yet another excellent title by FromSoftware and a great return of the series, featuring fast-paced and intense combat and a high challenge level, as highlighted by Kai in his review.

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is without a doubt one of From Software's most unique and polished experiences in the last decade. However, there's a certain expectation of AC Pilot skill getting into the cockpit that even making it through until the final chapter requires an established familiarity far above and beyond any Soulslike pedigree.

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide.
