ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios and one of its co-founders and now former chief content officer Rob Runesson following allegations of sexual misconduct on Runesson's part towards a popular female streamer known for playing Embark's other major live service game, The Finals.

First reported by IGN, the allegations initially appeared last month in a livestream, where an anonymous user submitted them to streamer Balise, who read them live on stream. The Google Doc Balise reads through was later recreated and shared online through The Finals community.

In the document, the anonymous user who submitted them claims to have been aware of the streamer and Runesson's relationship, which developed normally at first but later involved Runesson forcing the streamer to perform explicit sexual actions on camera for him. Runesson would allegedly become verbally abusive if the streamer tried to refuse, and by that point in the relationship, the streamer had become financially dependent on Runesson allegedly promoting her streams internally within Embark to ensure she was involved in elements like the content creator program, gifting paid subs to her through Twitch, and direct donations to her PayPal account.

The anonymous user who submitted the document and accusations eventually went directly to Embark Studios with their claims, though they were not told of any action taken against Runesson. In a statement, Embark says it hired a third-party firm to conduct an investigation into the allegations. While the allegations were not directly substantiated by the investigation, Embark found the situation to be "unsustainable," which led to both sides parting ways. Here's the full statement from Embark:

"Our leadership team was recently made aware of allegations against an Embark employee. We take these matters seriously, and as a part of our process for addressing any types of allegations, we immediately hired a law firm to conduct an external investigation. The investigation did not substantiate the allegations, but we found the situation unsustainable and mutually agreed to part ways with Rob."
