Apple is hosting an online event next week, and it is said it will focus on high-end gaming on Mac while also featuring a major tie-in with a Japanese developer, according to rumors circulating online.

As reported by MacRumors, next week's event is going to focus on high-end gaming, with upcoming M3 chips that will support hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Additionally, these chips will likely pave the way for more AAA games launching on Mac, as they are expected to be manufactured with TSMC 3nm process for faster performance and improved efficiency.

Next week's Apple event is being held at a rather unusual time, 5 PM Pacific Time, which is actually during Japanese business hours. According to what sources revealed to MacRumors, this may not be coincidental, as the event is supposedly featuring a major tie-in with a Japanese developer, which MacRumors speculates could either be CAPCOM, which is releasing Resident Evil Village on iPhone 15 Pro and iPad models powered by the M1 chip and newer on the same day, or Sony, which is launching cloud streaming for PlayStation 5 games on the same day as well.

While all the new information on Apple's upcoming event revealed today sounds believable, we have to take everything with a grain of salt. The event is coming in just a few days, so it won't take much longer to see if and how Apple's approach to high-end gaming will change in the future.
