Apple is potentially planning to launch a new product line that will focus on mixed reality content. The AR Headset has been detailed in the rumor mill for years but the product has only seen delays. A new report suggests that Apple's AR Headset is picking up pace and has entered the "final sprint" and 'delivery stage'. If the news has any heft to it, we might see Apple announce the AR Headset at its WWDC 2023 event in June.

Apple AR Headset could launch at WWDC 2023 as Device Enters Final 'Delivery Stage'

According to a report shared by the Economic Daily News, Apple's AR Headset has entered the delivery stage ahead of the WWDC event. The headset's supply chain sources include Foxconn's GIS. It was previously reported that Foxconn would not be part of the supply chain as far as Apple's AR Headset is concerned. If you are unfamiliar, GIS laminates displays and it has been doing it for a while for iPad displays.

The AR Headset's kens are potentially being laminated on a dedicated production line, ensuring the product is ready ahead of launch. The entire production operations are being conducted in a GIS plant in Chengdu, China. If everything goes according to the company's plan, the AR Headset could make a debut at the WWDC 2023 event. However, take into account that the company will only announce the headset at the event with the final launch expected to take place in the following months.

For the supplier, it will make a base to secure future orders from Apple for the next-gen AR Headsets. This lines up with the previous reports of Foxconn looking to secure orders for budget headsets. Apple has been working on its iteration of the mixed-reality headset for a while. The rumored products already have competition from Meta. While some elements could be similar, Apple's implementation would set its AR Headset apart.

An employee also shared his insights on the product last week, suggesting that he was "blown away" with the AR Headset's capabilities following a recent update. Previously, employees shared their skepticism regarding the device as far as the utility of the headset is concerned. Apple will take center stage on June 5 to announce its forthcoming iOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, and other updates. The company is also planning to announce the new 15-inch MacBook Air with an M2 chip. We will keep you guys updated on the latest so be sure to stick around.
