Apple Vision Pro selling for inflated prices at third-party online stores

After the Apple Vision Pro officially went up for pre-order last week, it did not take long for shipping times to slide, hinting that the head-mounted wearable might have been a success. However, with a limited number of units mass produced for the initial batch, listings have started popping up on third-party online retailers such as eBay and StockX, offering the AR headset but at extremely inflated prices. Let us compare the differences and see how much of a markup these individuals are charging.

Lowest price of the Apple Vision Pro is listed at $4,500 for the 256GB model

One StockX listing was spotted by Bloomberg Mark Gurman, who showed that the 1TB version of the Apple Vision Pro was going for a whopping $9,999 on StockX. Bear in mind that the same version is currently on pre-order on the technology giant’s online store for $3,899, but there is no telling when the device will be shipped to the buyer’s doorstep, so for those that want a physical retail unit immediately, they will have to pay a steep price to be an early adopter.

However, when we tried to search for that specific StockX listing ourselves, we could not find it, though we did find one offer that priced the Apple Vision Pro at $5,000 for 256GB of onboard storage. The situation on eBay was not any different, as similar configurations were listed for $4,500, which was the lowest price we could find at the time of writing. These listings may be available for consumers living outside of the U.S., but that will be a futile purchase because the App Store, Apple Music, and TV App all require a U.S. Apple ID.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, pre-orders of the Apple Vision Pro reached up to 180,000 units, and while that might sound like positive news for the company, other concerns were highlighted. For instance, shipping times have now reached between five and seven weeks, meaning customers have to wait more than a month to receive their order. Due to this setback, Apple Vision Pro resellers are attempting to make the most of this opportunity, though how successful they will be in their endeavor is anyone’s guess.
