The iOS 18 update is right around the corner, and the company has also officially announced the final release update of the build for the general public. The update will bring a bevy of visual changes to the mix, but it will reserve Apple Intelligence features for another day. We have previously heard that Apple Intelligence will arrive in October with the release of iOS 18.1, and now, the company has released a new beta of the update for developers.
Apple has released beta 3 of its upcoming iOS 18.1 update to developers, now supporting the new iPhone 16 Pro models
If you are a developer, you can download and install the latest iOS 18.1 beta 3 on your iPhone and iPad right now through the Settings app on your iPhone. If you are not familiar with the mechanism, all you have to do is head over to Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates and install the latest beta 3 by following on-screen instructions.
The latest beta of iOS 18.1 brings Apple Intelligence improvements to the iPhone 15 Pro, but it also comes with support for other devices. Apple just announced the new iPhone 16 lineup, which is built to serve Apple Intelligence, considering the company's approach to AI and hardware configured to its use. This also means that the iPhone 15 Pro models are now not the only models that will be able to run Apple Intelligence features.
If you are a developer, you will be able to download iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence support on your iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. This means that as soon as you get your hands on the new iPhone 16 Pro next month, you will be able to install iOS 18.1. Apple Intelligence in iOS 18.1 will bring a handful of AI tools, including the new Writing Tools, Clean Up in Photos, summarization of texts, and much more. Also, there is a new Siri Interface that will be available to all users, but it will not use the new language models that make it smarter than the current version.
Apple Intelligence will continue to receive new features with the release of subsequent updates, and we have also heard that some of the features could take as long as early next year to arrive, while most of them will be released by the year's end. Apple stated that the iOS 18.1 update will be available to the general public in October, so be sure to keep an eye out.
