Apple is Bringing RCS Messaging to iPhone in the Fall 2024, Claims Google

Google has updated the Android website's landing page for Google Messages. The update talks about the party messaging experience, and you would be happy to know that it also talks about how RCS is coming to the iPhone in the fall of 2024, which means that you should not have to wait a long time.

RCS coming to Apple devices is a huge win, not just for Google but the mobile industry as a whole

Google has been advocating RCS for as long as we can remember and asking Apple to take the same approach. Now that it is finally happening, Google has talked about some of the benefits that you will get, and this is what the landing page reads:

Apple has announced it will be adopting RCS in the fall of 2024. Once that happens, it will mean a better messaging experience for everyone.

Now, for those who don't remember, RCS support was announced by Apple last year, and at that time, the company talked about how it would come later next year. By "later next year," many were under the assumption that it would come with the next version of iOS, but it appears that it might be coming sooner rather than later. Google has also talked about how RCS messaging is getting animated emoji reactions, which is definitely going to add a bit more engagement to the messaging protocol.

It is safe to say that Apple finally bringing support for RCS messaging is definitely a huge win not just for Google but for communities on both sides. Considering how RCS is a protocol that has become a lot more common than it used to be, it is only fair that two of the biggest players and perhaps two of the only players in the mobile industry are doing everything to ensure that cross-communication between devices is being done in the easiest and most effective way possible. We will keep you posted as we learn more about RCS coming to Apple devices. Until then, stay tuned.
