Apple announces iPhone 16 event 'It's Glowtime' for September 9

There were reports claiming that Apple would announce the iPhone 16 lineup and other products on September 10. Unfortunately, that information was off by a single day because the company has officially announced the event for September 9, and it is called ‘It’s Glowtime.’ According to the invite details, the keynote is scheduled to take place at 10:00 AM, with select media outlets and content creators invited to be a part of the announcements.

We previously reported that Apple had wrapped up filming for the event, indicating that the technology giant is more than ready to announce four new flagships in the coming days. The format will likely remain unchanged compared to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 unveiling, which not only included an in-person experience for the press but viewers around the world could livestream the keynote through multiple channels, with the most notable being YouTube.

In addition to the iPhone 16 lineup, we should also look forward to the Apple Watch Series 10, a new Apple Watch SE that could flaunt a plastic build instead of the premium aluminum casing, and an Apple Watch Ultra refresh. Those waiting for an AirPods update will be thrilled to learn that the company may showcase two versions of its in-ear wireless earbuds; one that features Active Noise Cancellation, while the other ships without this feature and is stamped with a smaller price tag.

According to estimates, Apple intends to ramp up production of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, with the Cupertino firm’s biggest model making up the largest volume, indicating that these two will spearhead the company’s initial 90 million shipments for 2024. In a recent survey, we learned that many people would only upgrade to the iPhone 16 if Apple introduced a capable cooling solution and a competitive pricing structure. As for those who had no intentions of upgrading, the majority of them stated that they could not afford one.
