AMD's Ryzen 5 9500F is now available globally, and the company has also introduced its Ryzen 5 7400F & Ryzen 5 7400 CPUs.

AMD Releases Ryzen 5 7400F & 7400 CPUs; AMD Ryzen 5 9500F Goes Global

The previous Ryzen lineups such as the Ryzen 7000 series are gradually expanding with more new CPUs, and while AMD might have transitioned to the Ryzen 9000 series, the Ryzen 7000 is still getting newer additions.

As spotted by @harukaze5719, the Ryzen 7000 series has now received two more CPUs, as spotted on Danawa, a South Korean price comparison platform. These are the Ryzen 5 7400 and Ryzen 5 7400F based on the Zen 4 architecture.

The AMD Ryzen 5 7400F isn't just a chip without integrated graphics, but it's significantly faster in terms of boost clock compared to the Ryzen 5 7400. It's interesting to see such a big difference in their boost clock, and according to the website, the Ryzen 5 7400F brings 4.7 GHz of boost clock vs 4.3 GHz on the non-F variant. The base clock is also 400 MHz higher on the 7400F, which is unusual.

  1. Ryzen 5 7400F: 6 cores / 12 threads, Base: 3.7 GHz, Boost: 4.7 GHz, L3 Cache 32 MB, TDP: 65W, no IGPU
  2. Ryzen 5 7400: 6 cores / 12 threads, Base: 3.3 GHz, Boost: 4.3 GHz, L3 Cache 32 MB, TDP: 65W

Nonetheless, Ryzen 5 7400F appears to be a much stronger CPU overall, not just in clocks but also in the cache size. It brings 32 MB of L3 cache, while the Ryzen 7400 only brings 16 MB. This clearly puts the 7400F much ahead of its non-F variant when it comes to gaming and productivity in general. The only area where the Ryze 7400 excels is its integrated graphics, which can be convenient in various scenarios.

As far as pricing is concerned, Danawa reveals that the Ryzen 5 7400 is priced at 204,590 Won, which is equivalent to US$147, but will be only available via OEM or system integrators. Similar is the case for the Ryzen 5 7400F, but the price is unknown.

As far as the recently launched Zen 5-based Ryzen 5 9500F is concerned, it's also listed on the platform, but the CPU is now available for retail worldwide. It's unknown whether the 9500F will also be available as a standalone product in South Korea, but it is also possible that AMD sells it via system integrators.

Update: Here are the prices for these CPUs as listed by a Korean retailer

  1. Ryzen 5 7400F: 191,000 WON or US$138
  2. Ryzen 5 7400: 201,000 WON or US$145
  3. Ryzen 5 9500F: 283,000 WON or US$204
