Apart from the RDNA 4-based PRO R9700, AMD is expanding its RDNA 3 lineup with more budget workstation offerings.

AMD Quietly Prepares RDNA 3-Based Radeon PRO W7400 GPU for Entry-Level Workstations; 1792 Shaders, 8GB GDDR6 and Just 55W of TDP

AMD hasn't yet done with the RDNA 3 lineup, and while it's not a GPU for gamers, it's an entry-level solution for budget workstation setups. AMD silently released the slowest RDNA 3 workstation GPU called the Radeon PRO W7400, which is similar to the PRO W7500, bringing the same shader count and memory capacity.

Radeon PRO W7400 is, however, weak in its memory configuration, delivering just 172.8 GB/s of memory bandwidth as a result of 10.8 Gbps memory speed. On the contrary, the PRO W7500 uses a 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory for higher memory bandwidth. Still, a lot of specs are identical, including 28 Compute Units, 28 Ray Accelerators, and 56 AI Accelerators.

Due to some downgrades, the PRO W7400 is able to deliver 7.9 TFLOPS of FP32 and 15.8 TFLOPS of Peak Single and Half Precision performance. Coming to its TDP, it's the most power-efficient RDNA 3 PRO GPU with only 55W of TDP. Compared to the PRO W7500, it's 15W lower and will be easily powered through the PCIe x16 slot and won't need any external power supply. The GPU has a PCIe 4.0 interface with 8 available lanes, which is what we see on the W7500 and the W7600 as well.

PRO W7400 will be a single-slot card as well, easily compatible with most compact server chassis, reducing the overall footprint. The card measures just 6.6 inches, making it 1.9 inches smaller than the W7500. The GPU supports all the latest video formats, such as AV1 Encoding and Decoding, making it ideal for low-powered workstation machines.

AMD hasn't revealed its pricing and availability, and the reference design image isn't yet available on the website. It should be similar to the PRO W7500, but will be smaller.
