AMD has posted even more record-breaking performance numbers of its Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX 96-Core CPU which has been overclocked to an impressive 5.2 GHz on liquid cooling.

If yesterday's performance figures weren't enough for you, then AMD is back with a second round and this time, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX CPU has been overclocked beyond 5.2 GHz & cooled with a liquid-cooler which provides better performance than the air-cooled which was used previously.

With the latest hardware configuration, US-based overclocked SAMPSON, has achieved more CPU performance records in Cinebench R15, R20, R23, and 2024. There's also a world record broken in the GPUPI benchmark. Following is the full list of benchmarks in which the Threadripper PRO CPU has secured world records:

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX CPU is the flagship chip within the new Threadripper 7000 family. The chip is outfitted with 96 cores based on the Zen 4 core architecture, 192 threads, and clock speeds set at 2.50 GHz (Base) / 5.15 GHz (Boost). The chip offers 384 MB of cache and up to 128 PCIe Gen 5.0 lanes, making it an insane chip for workstation users. With such big specs also comes a big price and the 7995WX has a retail MSRP of $9999 US.

Compared to the air-cooled performance which scored 161259 points in Cinebench R23, the liquid-cooled benchmark scores an impressive 167309 points, marking a 4% gain. Compared to the stock result, the liquid-cooled AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX is up to 67% faster which is insane considering even the stock chip is a beast on its own. Once again, the chip sits at 1000W power but it looks like LN2 is the next logical step for overclocking as that would result in enthusiasts and overclockers extracting the true power of this monster chip. The highest clock speed was reported in the GPUPI benchmark where the chip reached 5265 MHz or over 5.2 GHz with 1.42V. The CPU was once again sipping close to 1000W of power. So far, what we have seen from the chip is truly mind-blowing in all regards and there's simply no way that the upcoming Xeon W-2500/3500 series will be able to catch up to Threadripper's performance unless they are competing with vastly lower price points.

As expected, AMD is now the first chipmaker on the planet to break past the 150K limit in the Cinebench R23 benchmark with its latest Ryzen Threadripper 7000 PRO CPUs. The CPU is also so fast that it offers more FP32 TFLOPs than current-gen consoles including the Xbox Series X & PS5. The family will launch on the 21st of November so stay tuned for even more performance records.
