Another Zen 5 CPU to hit retail stores soon, as AMD releases an 8-core/16-thread Ryzen 9000 CPU. This is the fourth CPU launch by AMD today.

AMD Launches Octa-Core Ryzen 7 9700F Zen 5 CPU; ASRock Announced its 800 and 600 Series Motherboards Support the Latest Zen 4 and Zen 5 CPUs with Latest BIOS Updates

Today, AMD silently released four new processors in both the Zen 4 and Zen 5 family. We saw it launching the Ryzen 5 7400F, Ryzen 5 7400, and Ryzen 5 9500F in South Korea, but mostly as OEM-exclusive. AMD just added another CPU to its arsenal, which has been in the leaks for several weeks. This is the Ryzen 7 9700F, based on the Zen 5 architecture, boasting 8 cores and 16 threads.

AMD didn't officially announce the release of any of these processors, but ASRock's new Press Release confirmed the official launch. In the latest PR, ASRock announced that almost all of its 600 and 800-series motherboards will now support these processors with the latest BIOS version 3.30, which will include the AGESA 1.2.0.3e Patch A. Currently, only the motherboard (X870 Taichi Creator) shows the BIOS version 3.30 in the table listed by ASRock, but it should be updated soon with the BIOS rolling out to more motherboards.

The newly introduced AMD Ryzen™ 9000 Series includes the Ryzen™ 7 9700F and Ryzen™ 5 9500F, both without integrated graphics, as well as the Ryzen™ 5 7400 and 7400F from the Ryzen™ 7000 Series.

ASRock's AM5 motherboard lineup—including X870E, X870, B850, B840, X670E, B650E, B650, A620A, and A620 chipsets—can fully support the newly launched processors by simply downloading and installing BIOS version 3.30 (AGESA 1.2.0.3e Patch A) or later from the official website.

The official page of the Ryzen 7 9700F has also gone live. While it will retain the core configuration of the Ryzen 7 9700X, it won't have any integrated graphics. The CPU will feature a base clock of 3.8 GHz, and the same boost clock as the Ryzen 7 9700X at 5.5 GHz. The cache size and the TDP will be identical as well.

Ryzen 7 9700F isn't yet officially in the Ryzen 9000 series table on AMD's website but the 9500F is. However, we are expecting its inclusion soon. Price-wise, it should fall between $250-$290, and we did see it listed for around $290 previously, but it was unlikely its official MSRP.
