AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU Bundle Drops To An Incredible $450 US, Comes With B650 Motherboard & 32 GB DDR5 Memory 1

AMD's Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU is now available at a fantastic price of just $299, which makes it cheaper than the upcoming Ryzen 7 7700X3D.

Microcenter Offers Ryzen 7 7800X3D At An Absolutely Fantastic $299 Price While AMD's Upcoming Ryzen 7 7700X3D 3D V-Cache CPU Would Cost $329

Tomorrow, AMD will finally launch its brand-new Ryzen 7 7700X3D 3D V-Cache CPU for the AM5 platform. This chip promises to offer the same 3D V-Cache goodness to gamers for a lower price point than what the 7800X3D retails for.

But it looks like Microcenter is spoiling the fun of AMD's launch by discounting the incredible 3D V-Cache-powered Ryzen 7 7800X3D to just $299. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D launched in 2024 & immediately became a game-changer, selling out instantly, and continues to see lots of sales to this day.

The success of the 7800X3D stems from its 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache design (the same used on the latest Ryzen 9000X3D chips) and the highly efficient Zen 4 architecture. Sure, Zen 5 chips perform even better and run super efficiently, but they are mostly priced above $400 US. The 7800X3D was mostly selling for around $349 US, which made it one of the best values for an X3D chip on AM5 boards.

Now, the CPU can be yours for $299 US through Microcenter. And what's great is that there are plenty of motherboards to choose from, all the way down to sub-$100 B650s to ~$150 B850s & great sub-$200 X870 options. Memory and storage prices are a different story, but if you were already running a Non-X3D Ryzen 7000 chip, then a $300 X3D upgrade to the 7800X3D would be worth the price of admission.

Ryzen 7 7700X3D vs Ryzen 7 7800X3D:

AMD's Ryzen 7 9800X3D currently sells for $419; the Ryzen 9 9850X3D sells for $469, while the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, now with a 10th Anniversary Edition badge, sells for $299 ($50 US below its MSRP). All AMD X3D chips are selling below MSRP, which is great for consumers, especially the gaming audience.

Now, the $299 US price for the 7800X3D should make tomorrow's reviews of the 7700X3D a tad bit interesting. The pricing only applies to Microcenter and other retail outlets are still selling the same chip above $329 US, but if the price difference between the 7700X3D and 7800X3D ends up close around $10-$20 on retail, then it would be a better choice to get the higher-end chip or wait for a "expected" price drop of the 7700X3D down to $299 or further below.
