AMD's "silently launched" Ryzen 5 7400F finally surfaces at retail in China. Its price tag is just 849 RMB/$116, making it a compelling option for budget users.
AMD's Ryzen 5 7400F Zen 4 CPU Targets Providing Great Value For Budget Users, Coming In With a 6-Core Configuration
It seems like AMD isn't ready to give up on its Zen 4 CPU architecture, as just recently, the firm launched a new Ryzen 5 7400F CPU model intended to target the budget segment. Despite Team Red unveiling the processor, we never really had an idea of what to expect in terms of its retail pricing, but fortunately, the CPU has been listed on the Chinese marketplace (via @MEGAsizeGPU), revealing an impressive launch price of around $116, making it one of the cheaper options available in the lineup.

This pricing could certainly vary depending on how VAT taxes are applicable across each nation, so expect this CPU to retail somewhere around $100-$110. In terms of specifications, the Ryzen 5 7400F is a 6-core and 12-thread chip featuring a base clock of 3.7 GHz and a boost clock of 4.7 GHz. Compared to its superior counterpart, the Ryzen 5 7500F, the base clock is identical, but the boost is 300 MHz lower. Interestingly, the Ryzen 5 7400F won't have integrated graphics, and users will require a discrete GPU solution to power their displays.

Another important point to note is that this model won't be available at retailers compared to other models, since AMD tends to distribute these SKUs first to system integrators, and then through the retail channels. So, the CPU will be featured first in pre-built PCs, but that won't be the best way to squeeze the most value out of it. Pair it up with a chipset such as the B650 or even the lower-end A620, and the processor will be one of the best options for budget builds out there.
