AMD is going to kick off its Next Horizon Gaming event at E3 soon and this post will be updated with the live stream as soon as it’s available. While many of the announcements during the pre-E3 press event have already leaked out, there are still tidbits to be had tomorrow. The event will start on June 10, 3 PM PT.

What to expect from AMD’s Next Horizon press conference

As the name hints, we expect the show to be all about AMD’s upcoming products which feature the elusive Navi GPU. AMD has already held a press-only event and it’s possible that most of the information revealed there will be disseminated at the public event too. For those that are not aware, AMD has revealed the specifications of its upcoming Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU. The graphics card will have 40 CUs (as we told you a long time ago) and will achieve an insane boost in clock speeds of 1907 MHz (boost mode) allowing it to hit the 9.75 TFLOPs mark. This would make it an RTX 2070 competitor.

At the same time, the leak has also shown that the company is preparing to launch a 16-core Ryzen 3950X during Next Horizon. This will be the first mainstream 16-core designed for gaming (this designation is reserved to high clocked processors) with a boost clock of 4.7GHz. The processor apparently achieves this on a base TDP of 105W. This is the same TDP as the 12-core part I might add. The clock rate mentioned on the slide is actually one of the highest we have seen on Ryzen processors so far so this is absolutely great news.

Apart from this, AMD also probably has lots of other stuff to talk about during the Next Horizons press conference (maybe more, maybe less) including possible console efforts (I am seeing hints related to Google Stadia cropping up here and there as well) and the only way to know for sure is to tune in as it happens. NVIDIA does not have a press conference planned for E3 but we are waiting on them for a potential surprise/preview related to their “Super” teaser.
