Alienware Ships QD-OLED Gaming Monitors In 32" QW3225QF 4K & 27" AW2725DF 360Hz Designs
Kicking things off in 2024, Alienware is announcing two brand new gaming monitors featuring QD-OLED technology, the 32" QW3225QF & 27" AW2725DF. Both of these monitors are aimed at gaming audiences with a sleek new design with the higher-end variant featuring a curved and the eSports variant offering a flat-screen display.
According to Alienware, the QW3225QF is the world's first 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor with Dolby Vision HDR support. It comes with a curved (1700R) QD-OLED panel with true black and a peak brightness of 1000 units. The screen comes with an anti-reflection coating and the resolution is rated at 3840 x 2160 (4K) with a 240Hz refresh rate. The monitor is G-Sync compatible and certified.
It also comes with a 0.03ms response time (GTG). Connectivity includes 1x DP 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 (FRL), 1 USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-B, 1 USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C and three USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports. The whole monitor weighs 6kg (13.23lb) and comes with VESA mount support. The power is rated at 190W peak and 42.5W when On.
Next up, we have the AW2725DF which is touted as the world's first 360Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor and aims to be a perfect companion for eSports gamers. This monitor has the same anti-reflection coating but comes in a flat design. It supports a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 & a maximum refresh rate of 360Hz via the DisplayPort connector. Outputs include 2 DP 1.4, 1 HDMI 2.1, 1 USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-B, 3 USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, and a single USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C port. The monitor weighs 4.30kg (9.48lb) and has a peak brightness of 1000 nits. It supports AMD Freesync Premium Pro technology. Power is rated at 130W peak and 27.6W in On-mode.
Alienware also offers a 3-year limited OLED burn-in hardware warranty with both of its QD-OLED gaming monitors plus there's also the fancy Alienware FX lighting on the back which gives a more immersive feeling when playing games but can be disabled for users who find it a bit too intrusive. In terms of pricing, the Alienware QW3225QF will be available for $1199 US while the AW2725DF will be available for $899 US starting the 11th of January.
