Apple will announce iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 with new generative AI utilities, but these are not the only additions that users should be excited about. iOS 18 will be the highlight of the event, but Apple will also make sure that the rest of the updates receive their fair share of upgrades. It was recently uncovered that Apple is planning to bring major changes to the Notes app on the iPhone, but since iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 share a handful of similarities, we suspect the new features will be available on the iPad as well. It is now being reported that after 14 long years, the iPad will finally get its own Calculator app from Apple.

Apple is revamping the Notes app with new voice memo features and math support, as was previously reported. This means that the Notes app will be able to record memos from within the app as well as perform complex math notations. It remains to be seen if the Calculator app for the iPad will be designed differently than the iOS version.

The Calculator app in macOS 15 is also expected to undergo a redesign, which made us speculate that the company could be working on a new Calculator app for the iPad. According to sources (via MacRumors), Apple will finally introduce a Calculator app on the iPad, potentially with the same design language as the macOS 15 version.

The Calculator app will be available with the release of iPadOS 18 later this year alongside a plethora of additional features. As for compatibility, all iPad models that support iPadOS 18 will get the app. The company will showcase the design and functionality of the new app at its WWDC 2024 event, which is scheduled to take place in June. As mentioned earlier, Apple will revamp the Notes app on the iPad as the platform is much closer to the iPhone than the Mac. The Calculator app will support the Notes app in this regard with deeper integration for complex notations.

The Calculator app for the iPad could come with the option to resize window size depending on user preferences and apps opened in the background. Also, similar to the Notes app, the Calculator app can also come with a sidebar that shows past calculations and much more. This will be the first time the company will introduce a dedicated Calculator app for the iPad, and before today, users have been relying on third-party options from the App Store.
