Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition Coming to Android in January 2020
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition was supposed to be coming to Android and iOS this winter. There was no release date specified at the time, and today, a trailer posted by the Square Enix YouTube channel confirms that the game will make its way mobile devices early next year. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered already made its way to the PS4 and Switch, so it was only a matter of time before it'd make its way to mobile.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was originally released back in 2003 for the Nintendo Gamecube. The game is an action RPG where you get to control a group of chibi-like characters as they travel around in search of the fuel that can protect the world's settlements from a deadly poison. The remastered version comes with online multiplayer and cross-play. You can also expect new dungeons and boss battles, as well as more character appearances and items. Square Enix has confirmed that we can expect the game to arrive on the 23rd of January 2020. A “preview version” of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will be playable on the Tokyo Game Show floor this week, so more details about the game should emerge then.
There is no word about the pricing of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition mobile just yet. It is unlikely that the game will be heavily monetized with microtransactions as it is a remaster of an old title. A one-time payment for an ad-free experience is the best we can hope for at the moment.
