PTCL broadband is even more shitty than Worldcall. Half of the time it doesn't connect.

my ptcl dsl is also working very good,i get 30kbps avg on 256 kbps connection,and sometimes it even goes to 70 kbps.Though the speed in first couple of days wasnt that good.But it started working well after first 2-3 days,and is stable after that.

yes.. indeed my modem dies too .. but credit is due where its deserved .. the technicians show up promptly and try their best to fix the problem ... for the past 3 weeks .. my modem used to die for 4-5 hrs in the morning and then start in the afternoon .. they finally replaced the booster ...

3 weeks is alot of time .. but do consider the fact that its not easy to trace problems and then rectify .. these technicians have to go through alot of red tape to do their work ...
i understand this now so i dont get as pissed as i used too ..

on another note.. last year my dsl in dubai suddenly died.. i called them up .. first of all .. if u call etisalat's helpline then u have to wait for atleast 40 min .. yes 40 .. and im not exajerating .. to get through to the ppl .. it took them 2 weeks to trace the problem and then fix it ..

I think this thread should be locked.. =P

Because its 9 pages long now and several months old.. and Wateen still hasn't started and i get a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach everytime i see this thread... =(
